The Winslow Group’s predecessor, UTECH, Inc., was incorporated in 1995. Drawing on their extensive public and private sector experience and domain expertise in energy, environment, leadership and management, and science and technology policy. UTECH’s Principals developed and implemented a business concept based on the observation that technology is often the single most effective means for differentiating an organization. Given their domain expertise and extensive experience in research and development organizations, the Principals were unusually well qualified to match technologies and needs. Their goal was to help clients achieve a competitive advantage, either by building or expanding an organization around a new or improved technology or capability. They offered a variety of consulting services including helping organizations identify and acquire technology and either build or enhance their "business".

In January 1999, The Winslow Group, LLC, began operations as successor to UTECH. Winslow’s refined business concept includes matching technologies and needs to achieve competitive advantage, but in the context of Enterprise Development and Management. Winslow’s concept is to achieve business success by helping to build and continuously improve living enterprises. The goal is to help both existing and start-up organizations successfully manage complexity, integrate and align across their entire organization, and manage for results. To this end, Winslow’s Principals, Associates, and Strategic Allies offer a full range of Enterprise Development and Enterprise Management services.
